  • Figure out the correct size leash to select using these guidelines for bearded dragons. FIRST, MEASURE your dragon from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail: 1) Small size leash for 8” to 10” dragons. 2) Medium size leash for 12” to 15” dragons. 3) Large size leash for 16” plus sized dragons. 4) Extra-large size leash for dragons weighing 650 grams or larger. For other lizards or small animals, use these for comparison. SECONDLY, MEASURE your dragon’s girth (circumference) just behind his / her front legs (use a string and ruler): 1) Small size leash 1-1/2” to 3”. 2) Medium size leash 3-1/8” to 4-1/2”. 3) Large size leash 4-1/2” to 6-1/4”. 4) Extra-large size leash 6-3/8” to 9-1/4”.
  • Putting your leash on your lizard: 1) Push button on toggle and move it back to the knot in the cord. 2) Spread sides of harness out evenly. 3) Tug both sides of the cord back equally so that the opening between the harness and the leash cord is as “open” as possible. 4) Be sure that the “V-shape” part of the harness is under the lizard’s neck. 5) Slip over lizard’s head and guide their front legs into harness holes. 6) Gently tug cord until harness is snug. 7) Press button of toggle, moving it back down the cord until it secures the harness in place.
