Now a “mini” version of our traditional full-size favorites! These new Mini-Hammocks are better sized for babies, juvies and smaller sub-adults. Now you can have a Carolina Designer Hammock that fits your 20L beginner habitat and not have to wait until your reptile moves into his next larger home. These hammocks by Carolina Designer Dragons provide a comfortable, elevated vantage spot that bearded dragons are known to enjoy in their houses. These hammocks also feature the same “hand-sewn in the U.S.A.”, machine-washable benefits as the Chaise Lounges by Carolina Designer Dragons. The sewn-in internal batting gives a comfortable feel for your bearded dragon and won’t get lumpy after machine washing. Hammock size measures 11” x 11” x 16”. They come with three suction cup hooks which are very sturdy and rated for 1 pound each. We do sell the adhesive hooks separately for use with the wood or melamine style cages. We tried other hammocks on the market that have suction cups grommeted to the hammock. What we found was that to clean the hammock, you had to pull the suction cups off the side of the cage. Over time, this decreased the effectiveness of the suction cups to the point that they didn’t work. Then, since they were physically attached to the hammock, the entire hammock went into the garbage. Some other hammocks on the market are made from a plastic mesh or seagrass, not something you want to just throw into the washing machine. So when they get soiled (poop), you end up having to scrub them clean by hand with a small brush; reserved just for this task. When positioning your hammock consider the height of your hammock in relation to your dragon. You want the front curved edge to be low enough for your dragon to climb into. This may include the use of a habitat accessory such as a Stacked Rock or a Natural Habitat Rock to climb onto first. Both of these habitat accessories are available separately from Carolina Custom Cages.
