Sphinx
Age: Two and a half years old
Genetics: 100% Marketed Leucistic
Size: 19" long and now weighs 450 grams
(she is normally a bit heavier, but she just finished
laying her second clutch two days ago)
Sphinx is very friendly. When you walk thru the
room she'll come to the front of her home and wait
to be petted. She has learned that she'll always
get her head rubbed and cocks her head giving you
a "what the hell" look if she does not
see that you're coming immediately to give her attention.
Sphinx is the palest female Leucistic that I have
seen. She has just the palest hint of yellow around
her eyes and develops a small amount of the same
color lightly through her beard if she gets excited.
Sphinx, of course is clear-nailed. She will eat
some salad but prefers as most of mine to be fed
her worms by hand. I can sit a cup of worms inside
her home, but she will just walk over to it and
look at me waiting. If I just look back at her and
don't offer her one right away, she'll look in the
cup and then look back at me like "Mom look,
they are right here and I want some". Sphinx
will snatch the worms greedily out of my fingers
and seems to relish each one before looking to be
fed the next worm.
