Age: almost three years old
Genetics: Sandfire/Red Flame X Sunburst/Flaming
Orange Tiger
Size: 19 -1/2" long and weighs 717 grams
Katie has the deepest red orange coloring without
any pattern overlay. She's always had that same
bright color. Katie prefers to live alone, probably
because for the first two years of her life she
was housed alone. That was until Poppy came along.
Now these two are soulmates, and a pleasure to watch.
When Katie decides to snuggle on top of Poppy, I
worry because she's so much bigger than he is, but
he just lets her snuggle and has a smug look on
his face as if to say, "This big, beautiful
girl is mine, all mine". Katie will let you
hold and pet her but seems to be granting you a
favor by her attitude. She looks at you like "Okay
see, I'm being nice because I like you". She's
a quiet girl who will sit all day on her log basking
and gazing out the window. If you want her to eat
her salad you'll have to poke your fingers at the
leaves and make them move, then she'll wander over
to eat. She does eat readily out of my fingers but
I have to be careful as she'll get a finger with
the worm if I'm not. I don't feel she does it on
purpose; she just gets impatient to get her worms.
